**Help Jim's granddaughter mark the anniversary of his passing with a plaque on his gravesite**
Auckland
Raising funds for a memorial plaque for my grandad's grave site.
Jim was well known in the Kaukapakapa/Helensville/Waitoki/Wainui and surrounding areas as the rural delivery postman for 30 odd years.
Jim passed away on 30th April last year in North Shore Hospital with family by his side. He was cremated and his ashes taken to Onerahi Cemetery (Whangarei region) to be buried alongside his late mother. Grandad has not yet received a plaque and I don't want to see the anniversary of his death pass without a marker on his grave. Due to size restrictions (his mother has an existing headstone), we can only place a small plaque, but the cost is an issue with such a restrictive timeframe.
I have arranged a plaque through Robinson Memorials in Whangarei - if any further funds are raised, I will put that towards decorating his grave - he loved tulips!
Plaque Installed 26 April 2018
Have just received an email from Robinson Memorial with a picture attached, to confirm installation of the plaque. I also stopped at the florist on Tuesday and ordered 3 dozen of grandads favourite flower, tulips, as well as a few roses for great grandma Rose 😊 thank you again to everyone who helped us make this happen. Grandads anniversary is this Monday, 30th April and we will have a small gathering at the gravesite in remembrance 🧡
