Support for Joanne during her recovery and rehabilitation and in particular her horses following her accident.
Waikato
As many of you will know, Joanne was involved in a serious car accident on Auckland Anniversary weekend which resulted in her suffering multiple serious injuries, with a total of 23 broken bones including her neck, ribs back and front, vertebrae, arms, wrist, legs and feet. She was very fortunate to escape the crash and to avoid being paralyzed. All things considered she is progressing well but will have a lengthy recovery period ahead of her. Unfortunately the driver of the other car was not so fortunate and the family's thoughts and condolences go out to the driver’s family and friends. Unfortunately Joanne's beloved dog Scamp passed away in the accident.
During Joanne's recovery period her ability to care for herself and her horses is going to be severely impacted. Being self-employed her earning capacity in the coming months will be impacted while continuing to have on-going living expenses. What will be of most concern to Joanne will be the upkeep of her horses and the costs associated with that.
A number of friends via Facebook and people in the horse community, both locally and internationally, have passed on their best wishes. A number have asked what can they do for Joanne. At the suggestion of a number of the people that have been in contact we have set up this Givealittle page to help with Joanne's ongoing costs in the coming months.
Any support is greatly appreciated!
Joanne is my aunt
To help with the additional costs Joanne will incur in the coming months while she has reduced mobility and is recovering from her injuries. In particular the costs associated with the upkeep of her horses. A lot of costs won't be covered by ACC/Insurance.
