Johnny Blaze’s life is full of physical adversity, just when his future was looking brighter, disaster struck and he had his leg amputated.

Johnny Blaze's friends and family are committed to turning his luck around. So far it's been 32 years of knock back after knock back. It's his time to shine!!

Johnny's sudden leg amputation was a result of one of his aortic by-pass clotting, therefore not getting enough blood supply to his left leg.

Johnny Blaze's friends and family want to ensure he gets the very best prosthesis which range from $20,000-$150,000, because it is an above knee amputation he is going to need dynamic adaptable knee technology that is fit for a range of situations. We are also fundraising for his changing needs, such as equipment and home support, so he can keep up his amazing contribution to the disabled sporting community as an athlete, coach, student and board member for Parafed Bay of Plenty.

All money raised will be going into the John Sligo Benefit Trust Fund.
