Kapiti Performing Arts Centre

$8,432 of $2,000,000 goal
Given by 28 generous donors in 3 years

What started as a college project will now become a state-of-the-art creative community centre for all Kapiti residents. We need your help!

Wellington

The Kapiti Performing Arts Centre (to be built in 2017 and ready in 2019) will represent the region’s most significant new public building project to happen in the next 15 years.

Originally the building was planned for Kapiti College use only, but after extensive collaboration with various arts groups on the Coast it was decided to expand the facilities and make it a community venue. With the Council's plans for a civic arts centre not on the cards for another 20 years, this is a great opportunity!

This Kapiti community venue boasts two theatres, practice rooms as well as a generously proportioned foyer – an event and exhibition space in its own right. The Centre will be the only purpose-built community theatre between Wellington and Palmerston North.

This popular venue will attract a wide variety of performances, events and exhibits - becoming a creative hub to grow and showcase champions.

With prominent road frontage on a major local road, the Centre will be highly visible and accessible for the local Kapiti and wider Wellington region's communities.

We are now seeking significant funding contributions from the community to build this state-of-the-art asset on the Kapiti Coast. All support is greatly appreciated, but if you would like to make a more substantial contribution, please contact us on kapitiartscentre@gmail.com. We have some very valuable sponsorship options for major sponsors, and naming rights opportunities still available!

Thanks for your support - we can't wait to welcome you through our doors!

We are the Kāpiti College Performing Arts Centre funding committee. Our task is to close the balance between the cost of the centre and the available money to build it. We are well on our way and are driven by great backup of our community, namely YOU. Thank you for helping us and our community out.

Our Performing Arts Centre will have its shape soon   26 July 2018

As the panels for the performing arts centre are being fabricated you'll soon see them arrive at the building site. The panels will be hoisted on the concrete slab-foundation and we'll soon see what the shape of the building will look like. A 50m crane has been brought onsite to lift the panels. Keep an eye on the media for updates.

We'd like to thank you for your ongoing support. We still need to close the final gap of $$. SO if you know anyone willing to help and donate please let them know and share our GiveaLittle link https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/kapitiperformingartscentre
