Kasey was recently diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour. Kasey is 2½ years old and is currently receiving experimental chemotherapy.

Kasey has been part of our Love and Learn Care and Education centre since he was a baby. His family, including brother Tyler and lots of cousins, here at Love and Learn are an enormous part of our community.

Kasey was diagnosed at the end of March and this cancer is new to medical professionals which makes it a challenge to deal with. The tumour found in Kaseys brain was 5cm by 5cm by 6cm and put a lot of pressure on his brain and ability his to walk.

There are many unexpected costs associated with caring for Kasey, so we would like to ease the burden for his family. Mum has had to relinquish her employment to provide full time care for him.

Kasey is a beautiful child who has a smile that lights up a room. He is kind to others and loves his brother Tyler (3 1/2) like a best friend.

We would really appreciate any support for Kasey during this hard time.

Kasey is a memeber of our learning community at Love and Learn Care and Education in Whanganui. We are working together with his family to fundraise and support him throughout this journey.

Use of funds

Raising funds to help create an ideal environment for Kasey while he is receiving treatment and during his recovery is our top priority. Kasey and his family currently rent a house which is not well insulated and cold. As he will spend most of his time at home between treatments and winter is fast approaching, we would like to raise enough money to purchase appliances to provide adequate heating for Kasey’s home. Kasey has already started to become fragile and his immunity is being compromised.
