Please help me, help Kate Marshall and her young family have more time together after cancer diagnosis.
Manawatu / Whanganui
My name is Natasha and I have been a close friend, work mate and neighbour for a number of years now. Kate needs our help to live out and prolong her life with her husband and to watch her young family grow up.
HISTORY: Kate was diagnosed with her2 positive breast cancer in 2012 and under went a full mastectomy followed by 6 cycles of chemotherapy and 15 of radiation. Unfortunately this year (2017) her cancer has returned and spread to the small bowel and abdomen lining. She is currently on Tamoxifen to slow down the cancer but it is incurable this time. She needs access to the new drug Ibrance that is now available in New Zealand at a cost of $5,000 a month $60,000 for the full cycle. She is unable to afford this drug as she has a young family to support and has only recently gone back to work after having 3 months off for surgeries and recovery. She is only doing 10 hours per week as she gets tired easily and can not risk getting over tired and run down as this will maker her more susceptible to catching the flu or common cold, which you or I could fight off within a week but for Kate this would set her back months.
FAMILY: Kate has a 12 year old daughter Emma, 10 year old son Nate and husband Dean whom she recently married in January this year. They are very supportive of her. I know she and her family would greatly appreciate any support possible so she can get this treatment and have more time with her children as they grow.
Kate is the nicest most generous person I know, she would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She is very family focused, so to have this huge news given to her has been a big upset for not only her but all of the people she has helped and touched over the years. Even through all of this she remains positive everyday. I am so blessed to have her in my life. Kate never knew how strong she was until being strong was the only choice she had.
I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart who has taken the time to read this and donate.
Every cent raised through Givealittle will go towards the much needed treatment Kate needs to survive and give her her quality of life back for longer.
I am involved because I cant just sit back and watch my friend go through this without trying what i can to get her the funds needed for this next cycle of treatment she needs.
