Keeping our searchers safe and dry

$512 donated

Our volunteers put themselves and some of their own gear on the line, we need to raise funds to buy more team gear to protect them.

Southland

As with most voluntary emergency service groups, we rely on fundraising for specific equipment to our tasks.

Outside of our base gear, all volunteers often will purchase some of their own specific field kit - obviously they intentionally use it for their own outdoor pursuits, however harsh wear and tear on a search can personally cost them.

About us

Southland LandSAR looks after the greater Southland area in terms of Search and Rescue alongside three other edge-region groups.

We not only work alongside the Police in land-based searching, but also incidents around the wild southern coastline.

Use of funds

Southland LandSAR is looking at raising funds towards extra equipment for those harsh and unpredictable areas our teams go into. This may include PFD's for coastline searches, heavy-duty wet and cold-weather gear as well as safety harnesses.
