Kelly needs to upgrade her car so she can have hand controls and a ramp installed so she can carry on driving.
Auckland
Kelly was diagnosed with MS after the birth of her second daughter (2016). The type of MS Kelly has is Primary Progressive which means she will slowly lose her mobility over time. There is no cure for this disease, only the symptoms can be managed accordingly.
Kelly has two young daughters (ages 5 and 3), she loves spending time with them and taking them to and from school/daycare. Adventures to the park, shops and other attractions would be made possible with these changes to her car. Keeping up with her girls is a big part of Kelly's day to day life.
Kelly also still works 4 days a week and really enjoys coming to work. By having these features added to her car it will make coming to work easier and safer for her.
Accessable NZ have approved funding for Kelly to have hand controls and a wheelchair hoist installed in her car to make driving possible however they cannot install these features in her current car as it is an older model.
This page will help Kelly put money towards upgrading her car so these features can be installed for her.
Kelly's is a great friend of mine and we also get to work together everyday :)
These funds will be used to help Kelly upgrade her car so she can have hand controls and a ramp installed for her wheelchair.
Re-Open Page 14 July 2020
We are re-opening this page as we have some very generous people in the community that would still like the opportunity to donate some money to help Kelly out.
Kelly is still working towards getting the money together to get her new car so every little bit helps her get closer to that goal.
