Nationwide

Assalamu alaikum & Ramadan Kareem!

For the last three years KLN has been working more strategically within the Muslim community and more widely in three areas: capacity building, leadership development & advocacy. We are so humbled and pleased that in a short time-frame we have not only had an impact in the lives of individuals, communities, but also more widely in society. If you haven't heard about us we highly recommend you check out our website: www.khadijaleadershipnetwork.org.

Some key features of our work so far in our short-lived journey that you might already know about, or should know about include:

- The Seeds of Ilm Conference in 2018 (with a focus on terrorism and national security prior to the Christchurch Terror Attacks impacting our lives) - https://www.khadijaleadershipnetwork.org/pages/seeds-of-ilm

- Our Hijrah Stories, where we have captured the contributions of Muslim women in this country. We want to place a pou in the whenua of our histories, and stopping the practice of re-writing of our history in this country - https://www.khadijaleadershipnetwork.org/blogs/our-hijrah

- Our work with the Uyghur Muslim community in Aotearoa, New Zealand over the last two years the latest being the handover of a letter to MPs asking for a safe pathway through our refugee programme for Uyghurs to arrive in New Zealand - https://our.actionstation.org.nz/petitions/open-letter-let-s-show-compassion-to-the-uyghur-community

With this and much more in the way of impact we have made, we are now doing our very first online fundraiser so you can support us to grow and invest in the people behind KLN to continue to deliver on our strategy (https://www.khadijaleadershipnetwork.org/pages/about-us). Till now we have relied on individual high donors and a few local government bodies for funding for the primary reason that we wanted to maintain our autonomy to continue doing the advocacy work we do for the Muslim communities here and globally. Asking for funding from particular funders also means we would not be able to do the cutting edge work we can do currently.
