Kick Cancers Butt with Nehemiah

My 8yr old moko Nehemiah Awatere has been diagnosed with Medduloblastoma a cancerous tumour on the brain. 😢 Our beautiful whanau live in Wainuiomata and have been calling Christchurch hospital home for the last 2 weeks. This family of 5 have been hit with some very sad news that no one ever deserves to go through.

Message From Karise (Nehemiah’s Mum)

-Thursday morning the doctors came to see us and said the biopsy results have come back and they finally have a answer for us . Nehemiah has been diagnosed medulloblastoma cancer . The neurosurgeon is pretty sure he has removed it all, but Nehemiah will have a lumbar puncture to see if he has any cancerous cells in his spinal fluid . He will be put to sleep for that . In 4-5 weeks Miah will start 7 weeks radiation treatment from Monday to Friday and have a brake over each weekend . He will eventually start 4 months of chemotherapy to make sure he has kicked cancers butt . We have a long road a head of us but I’m sure he’s got this, he’s super tough and super brave. With all the love and support we have I’m sure we got this too . Thank you for all the prayers and love and support we have received and continue to get . Your messages are uplifting during this speed bump in our lives.”
