Ethan and Oliver King are two beautiful little brothers have been diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy, a life threatening disease.

Auckland

Ethan and Oliver King are two beautiful little brothers whose lives have been changed forever. They have always brought us so much joy. Ethan is a funny, cheeky 3 year old and Oliver a happy 9 month old whose life is filled with smiles and giggles. Mike and Corinne were devastated to be informed in early December 2014 of Ethan’s diagnosis of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) prompting them to test wee Oliver, who sadly is following in his big brothers footsteps.

DMD is a genetic disease that has a relentless devastating effect on the muscles of the entire body. It is the most rapidly progressive condition of the childhood neuromuscular disorders, affecting only one boy in every 3,500. The disease will waste the muscles of the legs first, putting them in wheelchairs as early as 10 years of age. DMD will continue to weaken the muscles throughout their bodies including the heart and lungs and their beautiful lives will more than likely end in their 20's. CURRENTLY THERE IS NO KNOWN CURE, however, we live in hope as there are a number of treatments in trial stages around the world.

This has been overwhelmingly heart breaking news, not only for Mike and Corinne but also for the extended family. We think with the 'Give a Little' fund and your help we could raise funds for treatment options and help towards a purpose built home to accommodate the two boys.

The challenges that these two little brothers now face is hard to imagine. We move forward seeing the world through new eyes and now realise that we cannot foresee what tomorrow will bring.

We have set up Ethan and Oliver's 'Give a Little' fund to help with their tomorrows.

Thank you for your support!
