Support the Kwik Kiwis team cycling the Bupa Around the Bay 210km race in Melbourne to raise money for Polio Eradication.
Nationwide
It is not everyday that you get a team of six Kiwis riding a 210km cycling race in Melbourne. The Bupa Around the Bay race is on the 19th of October and the Kwik Kiwis cycling team have decided to use the event to support and raise money for a worthy cause. Our chosen charity is 'End Polio Now' which is supported by Rotary Worldwide.
Polio is a crippling and potentially fatal disease. It is a highly infectious disease caused by a virus. It invades the nervous system and can cause irreversible paralysis in a matter of hours. There is no cure, but there are safe and effective vaccines. The strategy to eradicate polio is therefore based on preventing infection by immunizing every child until transmission stops and the world is polio-free. This goal is so so close.
Vaccinating a child costs 6o cents so please donate to a fantastic cause and give six kiwis a reason to challenge themselves to cycle 210km in Melbourne.
Thanks for your support,
Kwik Kiwis Cycling Team
