ALS or Motor neurone disease is a neurological condition that causes the progressive degeneration of nerve cells, called motor neurons.
As the condition progresses, sufferers may be unable to walk, speak, use their arms and hands, or hold up their head. Life expectancy span is only 2-5 years after being diagnosed.
Kyu has come from a humble beginning as his parents immigrated to New Zealand with very little. Kyu has taken the same family values as his parents, hard work and passion to do better, to provide for his wife Karen and young child Alina. Unfortunately this disease has added financial pressure to his family while he is trying to fight this disease.
The treatment Kyu is undergoing in Korea is called Radicut which is for a 6 month period, this is to slow the disease down by up to 20%. Unfortunately the disease is currently progressing quickly and already Kyu has only limited use of his hands and requires the use of a wheelchair when leaving the house.
We would appreciate any support to help Kyu and his young family through this unfortunate journey
I have worked very closely with Kyu at Fuji Xerox, he is so passionate about his work and family. He needs your help
Any funds raised will go to Kyu and his family to either support Kyu with his treatment or for his Wife and young daughters future.
