The ramp is open! Now the new site needs some love with safety landscaping worthy of its grandstand position within Sumner village.

Isn't it great to have the ramp back!
It's taken a year and many many hours of volunteered effort but to see how stoked the community and skaters were on opening day makes it all worth the time spent on this project.
There's a few important jobs to finish which will cost well over $8,000 and a few bills still to pay for the relocating of the ramp (remember this is our 3rd move). It's hoped that this Givealittle page will be supported by both locals and skaters who can donate whatever they can. Your support WILL make a difference to improving the look of the ramp and its surrounds.
Everyone wants the ramp to be something the village is proud of so we are going to replace the existing contractor fencing with landscaped safety features by building planters and seating. This will mean the area not only functions well but looks great at the same time.
Rob Lowry has created some awesome artists impressions which will be built by 'ramp champions', Trevor Hone Builders.
All funds raised will go towards landscaping and any remaining funds to the ongoing upkeep costs. Remember it will be a few years until we get a permanent skate park within the Bays Area so this ramp has to look great and function well!
We are so lucky to be able to demonstrate that this youth focused recreational facility can be a huge success in the heart of our village. We all believed it could it happen and all our combined voices and efforts got us this great result.
Go Sumner!
Use of funds: safety landscaping i.e. seating and planters and the ongoing upkeep of the skate ramp.
Please reference SKATE when donating to help us keep track of what is coming in. Thank you all.
Ramp update 17 March 2018
Hi all, isn't it fantastic to see the ramp so well used. It's amazing to see different age groups all hanging out together. A dream come true for many! We are chuffed with the use it's getting as it helps support the case for a permanent skate facility in Sumner. By way of update, CCC Parks Team are on standby to deliver plants to help beautify the area around the ramp but we've still got a long way to go before our volunteer builders can come back on site to start building the safety (temporary) planters. Feel free to share the givealittle link with other skaters with the hope that they'll be as generous as you have been! May we also take this chance to say that Sumner Green & Skate are very concerned about the way in which some users are crossing roads around the ramp. Using the pedestrian crossing is the best way in which we can ensure safety of all - both skaters and drivers. Positive road use will ensure the ramp will stay open. Keep spreadin the love!
