Connor has been selected to represent Tenpin Bowling New Zealand at the U21 World Tenpin Bowling Championships (IBF21) in Sweden in June 2022. Not only that, but he has also been selected for the New Zealand U21 Tenpin bowling teams going to the Australian National Championships 2022 (ANC22) in July 2022.
In July 2020 Connor became the first person in New Zealand to bowl a perfect 300 game (12 strikes in a row) using the two-handed bowling technique. In his teens Connor saw that the world no.1 from Australia, Jason Belmonte, bowling the ball two-handed so he set about emulating him.
From the day he decided to bowl two-handed Connor has worked very hard on his game and has risen to the very top of youth bowling in New Zealand, winning the U21 New Zealand National Championship in 2020. Last year Connor was a key member of the New Zealand U21 team that broke almost all the records at the Australian National Championships.
Connor is a well-respected member of the New Zealand youth team and all of the young bowlers look up to him as a real mentor and someone whose attitude and work ethic they all want to copy.
With Tenpin Bowling looking to be included at the 2032 Olympics in Brisbane Connor has the potential to be there. These 2022 international tournaments for New Zealand are just the start!
Friend - Nicky (mum) and Connor are always supporting & fundraising for others, including current members of Connors team. People have been asking how they can contribute & specifically help Connor, this is a way for those who want to support him.
The funds raised will go towards airfares and accommodation for travel to the IBF World cup in Sweden and the Australian championship in Hobart. Any surplus will be shared with the team to assist others.
