The lovely Lulu and family are in a bit of shock. 6 weeks ago Lucy had some tingling in her toes and last week couldn’t feel her legs.
Bay of Plenty
After an emergency MRI on Wednesday a mass was found on her spine. The awesome team at Tauranga Hospital set up a transfer to Starship in Auckland on Thursday and after a 5 hour operation most of this has been removed and she can now feel her legs again. 😊
Lulu, whilst coming round from the operation, is most excited that there was an announcement that Florence and the Machine have announced they are coming to NZ again… ( yes that red hair is for a reason ). Meanwhile the family are working out how they are going to cope with a few new challenges.
Currently they will be in Auckland till next Friday at least, they have to move house at the beginning of July. Mums new job, that was planned to start on Monday, will have to be placed on hold. Dad who is studying part time in the evening, knows he will have to get back to tiling very soon.
This family are the first to help others in the community, here’s hoping we can give a little back - to reduce the added pressure of paying for trips to Auckland and feeding the family for the next wee while. Whatever you can give will be much appreciated and will be used to just ease the challenges on getting this team back to standing.
Thank you all x

As a family we wish to come together with all those who had Lucy touch their lives and celebrate the amazing gorgeous person she was.
Lucy asked that we do not wear black as it is a celebration, and that if possible please bring a plate of yummy food to share and a small bunch of flowers from your garden in jar or tin.
