Period Poverty | Sponsor a Waste Free Period Pack to a School in New Zealand

$1,240 donated
Given by 32 generous donors in 2 years

Your donation of $25.00 will buy one Waste Free Period Pack for a student at a school in NZ. We can only do this with your support!

Nationwide

My Cup is a Social Enterprise helping to alleviate period poverty by the sale and distribution of Menstrual Cups with their buy-one-give-one model. So far MyCup has donated over 4500 cups to at risk communities in NZ.

For every $25.00 raised MyCup can supply 1 Waste Free Period Pack to a school at cost. Our packs contain 1 teen menstrual cup, 2 reusable pads, 5 miltons tablets in a cotton bag with a full set of instructions for use. We also offer a 0800 help line for anyone who has questions.

Our dream is that every 14-15 year old in NZ is gifted one of our Waste Free Period Packs. Gifting a Waste Free Period Pack can be life-changing for some young people who are rolling up newspaper inside socks to make pads and missing sport as they are just too embarrassed. We need to be the first country in the world to address this and gift our future generation gender equality and empowerment.

We know that menstrual cups and reusable pads are not the only answer for tackling this national problem but they are one answer for those who are interested in a long term solution, a solution that helps them for at least 10 years. Owning a menstrual cup and reusable pads can save the humiliation of dependency on donated tampons and pads and the embarrassment of missing school, work or sports activities. We already know how excited the students get when they know they are getting one of these packs. It is the gift of freedom.

My Cup currently works with Community Partners all over NZ to distribute cups with education to those in the greatest need. MyCup prides itself in the relationships it makes, how it collaborates with the communities it serves and in providing high quality, world class NZ Made products for its programs. We want to change the world we live in by providing good education, show that collaborations are key to the success of community growth and that anything is possible if we work together.
