Liv, Brendan and Corbyn's story
Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt
Kia ora,
On the 23rd of May, 2022 (her baby's due date) Olivia went into hospital to be monitored as she noticed her baby hadn't been moving like usual. She had some tests and scans done, and then Olivia and Brendan were told the shocking, life changing news that their 40 week, full-term baby had no heart beat.
Olivia then naturally gave birth to her sleeping angel, Miller on the 24th of May 2022 at 3.33am. Miller was perfect in every way. Olivia and Brendan were given no explanation as to why this had happened.
"I still replay being told that they couldn’t find Miller's heartbeat. I still replay the moment of being told to push one more time because I’m so close to meeting my baby and screaming into Brendan “our baby who isn’t coming out alive..” and the silence that followed that sentence." - Olivia.
Olivia, Brendan and Corbyn have now been tackling their new lives day by day. Every day presents a new challenge, as there are constant triggers and reminders of what was supposed to be. Most of us could only imagine the pain this whānau are currently enduring. As we all know, quality mental health support and care can be expensive.
