In July 2015, my wife, Katharine and I begin a 10-month fellowship in South Asia with International Justice Mission, a Christian human rights organisation.
IJM recognises that violence is the most urgent threat for millions of the world's poorest people.
Every day, IJM, its local partners and a global justice movement are standing together to push back the advance of everyday violence.
After learning about the need for justice, we could not help but put everything here in Queenstown, New Zealand on hold to join IJM in their purpose.
While we are volunteering with IJM we will be doing the following work:
-Support local lawyers to prepare legal cases for the emancipation of slaves.
-Support government law enforcement agencies to prevent breaches of human rights
-Partner with local organisations to fight the cause of justice
-Communicate to stakeholders on the progress made by IJM and the support needed.
Our positions at IJM are fully self-funded by Katharine and I, including flights and living costs. We have saved $25,000 NZD and are looking to fundraise an extra $8,000.00 NZD to cover our costs for transport (including training in Washington DC), lodging and food for 10 months for the both of us.
We thank you for your support and for joining us to fight injustice.
