Auckland

We are a 114 year old hall established in 1906 for the community. We are locally owned and operated and are an incorporated society hoping to achieve Charities status in 2020.

The committee is hoping to fix up the hall (mainly the roof) and hold more community events, workshops and fundraisers. The hall is available to hire to our locals for weddings, anniversaries and other events. We would love to focus on updating the electrics, kitchen and mainly the roof and to have funds to restore "the ole girl" back to the glory she deserves.

Please donate now to help our community achieve our goal of saving and preserving this precious gem.

Local resident Tony O'Brien is cycling with Tour Aotearoa 2020 (3,000 kms - from Cape Reinga to Bluff) and any sponsorship will go straight to the hall and it's restoration.

Use of funds

Fix the Roof, update electrics, kitchen and new bathrooms!

I spent the first 17 years of my life, from 1936, in Makarau and remember the district Christmas parties in the hall.
