To Fund the installation of 6 CCTV cameras to keep Martinborough safe.
Wellington
We all want a safe place to live, and a long term project for the Martinborough Business Association is set to roll out very soon, making sure we are protecting our town.
The process has been a long one but local business Securitel won the tender and with the design complete and 6 cameras ready to roll, 2 of which have number plate recognition capacity. This clever system is key to being proactive in crime prevention. With cameras already owned by a number of local businesses it has already proven it can be vital to bringing justice.
Local police have been extremely supportive of the project and Sgt Richie Day commented “The Martinborough community is not immune to crime and the town is seen as a soft target by predominantly out of town criminals due to the remoteness of the town. They target the local businesses and also the holiday and weekend homes. Having cameras installed will not only assist Police in solving crime and hlding offenders accou table for their actions but the cameras will also prevent crime. I believe the installation of CCTV cameras is a very good idea and it will greatly benefit the whole Martinborough community.”
To fund the installation of cameras.
