Jacoba is a survivor. In September 2018 she was diagnosed with Grade 2, Stage 2, Breast Cancer. Jacoba did everything to increase her chances of beating the big C because her young children need her. This meant having a mastectomy of her right breast, chemo, radiotherapy and losing her locks. After 2 years of challenges she was officially cleared last Christmas 2019 and has started rebuilding the life she has always wanted for herself and her family. Her life changed and now it’s time to get her back her boobies. Her insurance company will pay for reconstruction of her right breast which was removed, however they will not cover the costs of left breast which will need to be reconstructed to balance the size differences as the smallest implants aren’t very small. Jacoba needs your help to raise $8,500 to go towards her reconstruction on the 24th of July so she can live the life she has worked so hard to create.

I have known Jacoba for over 3 and half years and from the moment I met her she has been a big sister figure in my life. She is the friend that will always be there for you, the smiling face you see from across the room and always thinks of others before herself.

She has three beautiful children, Thomas (age 11) Grace (age 8) and Hazel (age 5) who love their mum more than anything else in this world. Her partner Damian has been by Jacoba’s side every step of the journey, being her rock through the tough times. Unfortunately Damian lost his job due to Covid-19 and things have been tight since.

Jacoba is the most selfless caring person I know. She has captained the Toyota Relay For Life team for the last three years! Last year she lead the Toyota relay for life team to raise over $15,000 for the cancer society in 2020. She is a big part of creating the friendly, warm, inclusive culture at Toyota New Zealand.

Please help us raise $8,500 funds for my breast friend 💕 Every little bit counts.
