Mate’s road to recovery

Mate’ Glamuzina is my husband, a son, a dad, a best friend and brother to many.

On the morning of Thursday 22nd October, he was involved in a serious crash while out for a nice morning e-scooter ride along Marine Parade, Mt Maunganui. Mate' was rushed to Tauranga Hospital and placed in an induced coma while the doctors started their assessments. Mate' still remains in ICU.

Mate’ has suffered a broken neck, collarbone, spinal injuries, 10 broken ribs and collapsed lungs. Mate’s still fighting a chest infection and heavily dependent on ventilators. He has had his first spinal surgery. It is going to be a long road to recovery for Mate’.

Unfortunately, Mate's contract ended in March due to Covid-19 and he was busy working hard to set up his own coaching business to help others. But we've just found out that there will be no assistance from ACC as Mate' wasn't earning leading up to the crash. Many people have asked how they can help so I am setting up this page to allow people to give a little koha to go towards some upcoming household costs and living expenses.

Mate’ is dearly loved by many. He has a genuine desire to help others and has been a shoulder for people to lean on. No doubt, he has a special place in your heart if you are here offering to help him.
