Raising money for Matthew who is undergoing an amputation

Matthew is 25 years old, he has a congenital spinal condition that has affected the development of his left leg and in particular his left ankle since birth.
Despite this Matthew is a battler, he has pushed himself to remain active and over the years has played many team sports and kept himself fit at the gym.
Unfortunately after numerous surgeries to his spine and ankle he has now had to make the decision to have a below knee amputation.
We are hoping to raise enough money to help Matthew keep his independence during his surgery and rehabilitation.
Quick Update: We are holding a Fundraising Night for Matthew at the Te Atatu Boat Club on Saturday the 27th of September. Tickets are $20 and include dinner, kids are free. There will be some great live music and some amazing raffles and auctions on the night (including signed NRL shirts, restaurant vouchers etc). Right! So first off I have to say how amazing it is that we have raised an absolutely outstanding $10,000 for Matthew! Thank you all so much for your very generous donations. A big thank you again has to go to the Sky tv team in Entertainment Content who raised a pretty staggering $687 with their raffle! Matthew is glad to be out of hospital and continuing to recuperate at our parents place. He's had a lot of pain to do with the cast and the positioning of his knee since the operation and this has worsened over the last few days so he needs to go back to see the surgeon tomorrow. I know the car ride was a (much) less than enjoyable experience for him last time, so here's hoping that it's better tomorrow and that the surgeon can sort out all the issues. Thanks again!
