Please help our dream of publishing come alive
Nationwide
“To publish or not to publish … that is the question”
And the answer would be for your help TO PUBLISH!
The Mangere Bridge Writers Group is asking for help in publishing a book entitled “Views from the Bridge – A Collection of short stories, poems and more.”
Our Group has been established for around 8 years, with mostly the same dedicated and passionate group of writers over that time. We meet every month at our local library and set ourselves tasks; some of which may appear in the book.
Many of us have either self published before, or had plays/poems or stories produced, and we’ve also had the opportunity to read our stories on radio under the project name of ‘Writers on Air', but our dream would be to get this book out to the community that we love so much. Mangere Bridge really is a wonderful place to live.
We are currently finalizing the content and our next move is to get an editor to check over it and then go to print; and therein lies the cost.
Ideally we would love for anyone who lives in, used to live in, or has an affinity for Mangere Bridge to please sponsor us and help us raise the funds to get our book published. For any donations of $5 or more, we are going to have your name printed in the book (if you would like it to be, of course) as somebody who helped us achieve our dream of self-publishing.
You can be rest assured it will be a professional book and an enjoyable read for any age group.
So, from the members of the Mangere Bridge Writers Group, we thank you in advance for reading our Page and fingers crossed, for donating to our Cause.
Thank you! 22 December 2014
A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who donated towards our book, Views from the Bridge, including the NZ Creative Community Arts Board. Your help has enabled us to see our vision come alive! We were able to print 250 copies of our book, and so far it is selling well! We have about 100 copies left.
If you would like to buy a copy you can visit the Mangere Bridge Stationers and speak to Raewyn, or you can visit Robyn at her stall at the Mangere Bridge Market on a Sunday (Paul's Fruit and Veg shop). For those who donated via Givealittle, you will be able to find your name in the acknowledgment pages.
We couldn't have done it without you and we are very grateful that you have donated to us and believed in us. It is lovely holding our book in our hands!
