Meeka - our Beautiful Mystery ❤

Meeka is a wee mystery, our beautiful mystery. She has been our little fighter since the womb, going through multiple scans & an amniocentesis to check if she would be okay. When Meeka was born, she spent a few nights in SCBU where doctors discovered a heart murmur. At just 7 months old, Meeka underwent Heart Surgery to stretch out her Pulmonary Valve. At this time Meeka was also referred to Child Development, as she was not meeting her milestones with Developmental Delays & Low Muscle Tone.

At 11 months old, Meeka had helmet therapy to help reshape her skull from birthing difficulties, which has proved successful.

Throughout all this, Meeka has had Brain Scans and Genetic & Chromosome testing to find any underlying conditions, without success.

Meeka has reached one of her milestones of sitting independently; at 14 months old, this milestone is usually met about 6 months old. At 18 months old, Meeka is not yet crawling, walking or talking.

Meeka, our beautiful mystery, who always maintains the happiest outlook and brings us all so much joy deserves every opportunity in life! When her parents heard out about a 3-week Intensive Therapy Programme in Australia, which will be potentially life changing, it was all systems go to get her there.

To give Meeka this potentially life changing opportunity, she’ll need lots of $$$ to cover Therapy, Travel and Living expenses for her and her parents.
