Bay of Plenty
Kia ora my husband MERVYN HOUGHTON has been diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease.
Its been 5 months and from one of the healthiest males I know to now being in a wheelchair.
He has worked 45 years for the same company and retired early for our son who has a traumatic brain injury. But now I care for both Mervyn and our son.
Our home is needing a accessible bathroom and modifications to enable him to be independent and provide freedom to do what little energy he has to bath himself.
So his doctor mentioned this has a life expectancy of months to years and this can stop finding applications.
We will love to put a new bathroom into our home for him and his transfers and the progressive nature of MND for my husband, my childrens father has been so much loss and grief.
We have invested so much time and money into his Ramp and still owe our whanau because of the work they done. We still need a Van for all six of us.
