Michaela Spencer, U21s New Zealand Representative for world snooker championships, Jinan, China

Hi my name is Michaela Spencer and I am the only under 21 female playing snooker in Hawkes Bay.

I have been lucky enough to be selected to represent New Zealand at the world under 21 Snooker Championships in Jinan, China this year in July

I've been playing snooker for 7 years but only started taking it seriously about 2 years ago, I have been playing in as many big competitions around NZ as I can to get plenty of experience.

I practice 4-6 times a week for at least 4hrs at a time. Whenever I get a chance I'm going down to the RSA to practice and play other people. I have a lot of support from my family and friends and I've also had a lot of support from other snooker players in Hawkes bay who have taken me in and encouraged me to continue playing as there are not very many females who play snooker in New Zealand.

I'm always looking for ways to improve my game and I believe that going to worlds will improve my game drastically, I can definitely learn from this experience and it will be eye opening.
