A page for us to share our love and support to Micaiah's family
Otago
It can't get much worse than receiving the news your gorgeous little guy has a cancer diagnosis. Let's face it ... it's the stuff nightmares are made of as a parent.
While Micaiah is in the best of hands, this is a really tough time both him, and for the rest of the family as they watch him go through the treatment process.
In these times, we often say "what can we do to help?".
Obviously Micaiah's mum and dad need to be there for him as he travels his road to recovery. This can mean financial costs of extra expenses, time off work etc.
This page has been especially created as a place for the family's wide spread support network to rally together and offer any financial support they can afford. If you are a stranger reading this, and you are graced with compassion and empathy, you are welcome to support the family too.
Micaiah's Journey 2 September 2015
An update from the family....
Micaiah began his journey with Leukaemia back at the end of march. Since then we have undergone many chemo treatments, lots of bloods, trips to theatre etc you name it.
There has been many ups and downs along the way but overall Micaiah has shown us his true fighting ability. He has built great relationships with the doctors and nurses in the ward and this has become his pass time. Since being diagnosed Micaiah hasn't been able to attend pre school due to his immune system being so low he is unable to fight the bugs that these environments tend to set off. Mum and Micaiah therefore fill in their days with hospital trips lots of resting and when we are well enough Micaiah likes to go out for a fluffy or bite to eat.
His intense chemotherapy treatment will continue until closer till the end of the year (2015) then we will began maintenance treatment which is a three year journey. Although the chemo treatments are fewer we will still be very fragile to normality of life.
We would like to shout out a huge thank you to everyone for there support through this journey its truly humbling.
