My friend (who is the victim of extreme emotional abuse) and her two young children need financially support to help cover lawyers bills.
Canterbury
For the past couple of years my friend Rosie (not her real name) has been experiencing increasingly traumatic emotional abuse and sadly over the past couple of months as Rosie has tried to stand up for herself and protect not only her, but her two young children under 2, her situation has become worse.
Rosie's feeling incredibly helpless and unprotected. Due to the current circumstances we are unable to share details, however Rosie needs our help. The financial burden of paying for lawyers fees is becoming very big and Rosie is now feeling scared at the unpredictability of her future and not knowing what will happen with her children.
Those that have been the victim of emotional abuse know how confusing, scary, isolating and traumatic this experience can be. The process in going through court is often a very long and relentless battle (especially when there are children involved).
My heart breaks for my friend as she is met time and time again with something else to deal with. While her family and those close to her and doing all they can to support her, sometimes it's just not enough. In times like these legal proceedings are all that can protect women and children who are extremely tired and vulnerable from trying to fight for their freedom.
I would love to see some of this burden reduced and show Rosie that there are people who love and care for her (even if you don't know her).
This young mum is a friend of mine and someone who began reaching out to me for support over a year ago. Since then we have been in regular contact. My hope is that this Give A Little will help support her financially.
The money will all go towards lawyers bills. If the money exceeds this amount (which is unlikely as it's over 13k) we will donate the rest to Women's Refuge
