Help Sathya and her family during this tragic time

I (Veena) & Monty are raising these funds on behalf of our beloved brother who is struggling to find help for his wife (Sathya's) cancer treatment.

Here is his narration. Myself (Baskar Mohan) and Sathya Baskar are a young couple with our prince Rakshan. We were having a wonderful life as a family. Recently there came this bundle of problems that has chattered our life.

I was working as a Project manager at an Interior firm. Because of the business loss the company was closed and I was left unemployed. Also as I'm the only bread winner of the family. We had no other source of income. So I started to work as a food delivery partner with UBER EATS.

Last year in between all of these financial crisis we were happy and as we knew that My wife was conceived for our 2nd baby. Very soon our happines came to an end, when we went for an initial check up to the Gynacoelogist, she identified a swelling at the left side of her neck.

We were told that it may be TB (Tuberclosis). So we checked with FNAC (Injection Biopsy). Because of her pregnancy they did not do scanning. After FNAC Result - TB has been be ruled out. The doctor suggested us to Abort, because the powerful tablets would affect the fetus in the womb and baby will be born physically challenged.

Then we started taking tablets for TB for close to a month. She struggled a lot due to loss of appetite and heavy weight loss happened. At the time of pregnancy, she was 74 kgs after taking tablets for one month time her weight was reduced to 66 kgs.

As we were confused with the reports, also we weren't sure what was her problem. Finally after multiple tests we were told the one thing you never want to hear – “It’s Cancer - NON HODGKINS LYMPHOMO".

Now we are advised to take 6 courses of Chemo, that will cost us Rs.720,000/- (NZD 16,000) just for the Chemotherapy alone plus other charges associated.

As her health condition is getting worse day by day and now the swelling has developed on the other side of the neck and shoulders as well. She is finding it extremely painful even to move her hands.

I'm currently unemployed due to COVID-19 lockdown. All that you can offer counts at this point of time.
