Humanitarian aid for Ukraine through music.
Wellington
My name is Sasha Gunchenko, I am a New Zealand Symphony Orchestra musician. I am a Ukrainian, I am a Kiwi. I came to New Zealand, with my wife Kristina, 23 years ago. We raised our children here, we play music here, this is our home. We come from a beautiful country, a fierce country, a proud and independent country, Ukraine. That too is our home.
As the darkness and atrocity of war continues to spread through Ukraine, we have been angry, we have been sad, we have been lost, but we are surrounded by our communities here in Aotearoa. We have been overwhelmed by your love, your support and how you embrace us as your own.
Your love, support and kindness has given us courage. So, with support from our New Zealand Symphony Orchestra whanau, we will be sharing our art with you to raise funds for charities in Ukraine who are on the ground and responding to the growing humanitarian crisis.
We will be performing at 3.00pm on Sunday 24th April at St Andrews on the Terrace in Wellington to raise money to support three very important charities. For those who can’t make our performance, we have established this page as a place to show your support. On behalf of my family, our NZSO whanau and Ukrainians all around the world, thank you from the bottom of our heart.
Your contribution will truly make a difference.

Thank you very much to people who could attend the concert and to those who generously donated here!!!
