Dad. The most caring, helpful and selfless man I know needs your help. He would never ask. So I am.

As the title probably explains, Mike is my dad, along with my three other siblings. This year, the night before Christmas in fact, we found out that he has one of the rarest forms of kidney cancer. The big 'C'. He's been given some time to take a crack at treatment involving targeted radiotherapy and a course of medication over three months which disappointingly enough cost around $9000 a month and is not funded in any way here in NZ. We are from Hamilton and dad will be having to relocate to Auckland so that he can receive treatment each day.
Dad is the type of guy who would never ask for help. So I'm asking for him. I'm just taking a shot in the dark for one of the most important people in my life. I want to give him a fighting chance at this without him having to worry too much about the finances. No amount is too much if it means dad gets to atleast try and survive that bit longer, but like I say, I want to be able to take that burden of money worry from him and my incredible mother. Its not the news we were hoping for this Christmas, but it's the news we got. Any amount donated would be greatly appreciated. He's a bloody top bloke and would help anyone if the tables were turned.

Dad has done everything for my 3 other siblings and I over the years and we want him around for many years to come.
Use of funds
Funds will be used to help fund the course of medication and targeted radiotherapy treatment up in Auckland. Any suplus will be used to support mum with travel costs to and from Auckland as required. If things don't go to plan, funds will go to charity.

Mum and Dad's combined birthday 12 February 2019
As most of you will know, mum and dad share a birthday. With mum born on the 31st of January and Dad on the 1st of February we decided to throw them a surprise party. And it was incredible to see them so happy with everyone around!
Apologies its been so late between updates! Dad is going well, as well as he could be I guess. He started his chemo meds last week and has surprises us all with how few side effects he's has this far. In fact, he's taken inspiration from 'my house rules' and renovated one of the bedrooms at their house (my bedroom) into an office.
So far we've all raised just over $15,000 through our givealittle page... I think that's pretty amazing, and it's thanks to you all. Let's keep it rolling! It hasn't got too much longer left to run, so let's finish strong! Thank you so much to everyone who's donated this far. It's honestly made the process that much easier.
