Help us to raise money for two organisations who are changing lives; one in our NZ home, and one in our Nando's birthplace (Africa).
Auckland
Nando's NZ is gathering a team of Nandocas, suppliers, family and friends to take part in the Auckland Run the City event this October.
We’re using it as an opportunity to raise money for two organisations that are both close to our heart; Goodbye Malaria, and Auckland City Mission. I’ve included some info below on why we’ve chosen these two charities. We’d love your help in raising as much money as possible!
• Date of event: Sunday 28th October 2018
• You can find out more detail here: https://aucklandmarathon.co.nz/
**Goodbye Malaria:
Nando's PERi-PERi chillies are grown throughout Southern Africa. Sadly, millions of people suffer from malaria every year, but together we can help put a stop to this. Goodbye Malaria is working to support the elimination of malaria in Mozambique by 2030, in a way that changes the way the world thinks about Africa. The initiative was started by African entrepreneurs, including one of our Nando’s founders Robbie Brozin. They’re working with global partners and local government, who believe it’s time to end malaria for good. Over the last three years, the spraying programme has protected 330,000 people across three districts. In that time, the prevalence of malaria in these districts has decreased from 13.75% to just 1% - an incredible result.
**Auckland City Mission:
The Auckland City Mission are an organisation who look after the homeless community, provide support to the elderly, families in need, and generally help anyone in desperate need. They’ve been around for 98 years, and are an institution in Auckland City. Their base is 600m from our flagship restaurant (Queen Street), and we’ve had a growing partnership with them over the past couple of years.
Auckland City Mission: Nando's partners with the Mission through various programs.
