Raise funds to assist Vanessa and whanau during her battle with the beast
Nationwide
Vanessa is a beautiful mum to 5 young kids and 1 step son, and a wife to darling husband Dion. She is also a daughter, a sister, an aunty, cousin and friend to so many people, shes a supportive, loyal and loving woman who needs our help right now.
Several years ago in 2017 Nessa found out that she had inherited the BRCA1 gene, not long after she found out this news she went ahead and had a full Hysterectomy done, to prevent Ovarian Cancer but unfortunately on the 18th of June 2020 after a routine MRI was done she was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Nessa will be having a double mastectomy done on 17th July 2020.
This news has been a huge shock to Nessa and her whanau but with her strong and determined mind body and soul and the support of all around her, she is going to fight this beast and show Cancer it chose the wrong person to invade.
During this time, Dion will be having to take time off while Vanessa goes through surgery and recovery to take over all the chores and activities that come with being a Mum, and with Dion being the main breadwinner of the family this means reduced income, so that's where this page comes in.
I have already seen the amazing amount of support that's being shared out there on Nessa FB page, its beautiful and humbling to witness, so lets continue to support Vanessa on this journey because we ALL KNOW she would be right there with us if we were in her shoes.
LETS DO THIS
Nessa is one of my best friends <3
I have left this as an open goal, funds will be used by Nessa and family when & where they feel the need, be it for travel/pertol costs, morgage payments, food & utilities, it all add up when the one bread winner is off work supporting his beautiful wife
Update post surgery! 31 July 2020
Hi all I went and saw the surgeon yesterday for my results
I have to have chemo 4-6mths worth and i should be seeing them within 2-4wks. Chemo is done in Auckland hospital every 3weeks at this stage.
The cancer was bigger than what they thought it was and I'm still very early days of healing. My chest is very swollen still.
Now here’s best news.......It never travelled to my lymph nodes which is a blessing.
This is my journey and I've got this
#fuckcancer...
