Ishtar Te Ohomauri Mackey- Huriwai has been involved in Martial Arts her entire life, through her families Rangataua o Aotearoa Martial Arts Club.

Ishtar started competing in tournaments when she was 7 years old, she is now 11 years old and her passion and dedication seems to improve and strengthen every year.

Ishtar's International accomplishments thus far include the following :

2017- Runner-up in the 10-11yrs under 34 kg Junior World Muaythai Championship.

2015- 2016- Winner of the 32kg under 10yrs Junior World Muaythai Championship.

Once again she has secured the number one spot in New Zealand in her division for the 2018 Thailand Junior World Muaythai Champs.

Even though it is early in her fighting career she is prepared to train hard to achieve her goals. Ishtar trains five times a week and her favourite is running Kaiti Hill. Crossfit which is a favourite is done to help with her fitness and strength.

Ishtar is dedicated and determined for a young person to be the very best she can be in her chosen sport.

She also enjoys the following sports and recreational activities, basketball, triathlon, touch, speech and drama.

Ishtar is in the Sports Academy at Manutuke School which is helping her become a better overall athlete from engaging in multiple disciplines.

Her personal goals are to train hard and to be successful in all that she participates in, she hopes that all of her hard training will help her to become the 2018 Junior World Champion.

Fundraising targets include:

Thailand - to participate in the 2018 Muaythai Youth World Championship

Australia - to participate in the Siam Cup to gain more experience.
