Nic Hedley passed away suddenly and tragically last week. Her three beautiful, young kids need all the support they can get.
Otago
Nic Hedley was an amazing woman and a devoted mum to her three kids. In fact, they were her everything. She passed too soon and her children need financial support to help them through.
Nic was a strong, independent and capable woman who provided for her kids through her much valued work in the community. Through the outpouring of emotion from her friends and family since her passing we can see that Nic is remembered as a generous and warm hearted person who was always giving of herself to those in need. She was a port in a storm to many.
Nic was also a talented skater. She gave her time and boundless energy as a founding member of Dunedin Derby and was selected to represent NZ as a blocker for Team NZ in the Roller Derby World Cup. Nic was presently working on establishing a new roller derby league in Dunedin to provide a warm and inclusive environment for women who want to skate recreationally and play derby competitively - Rogue Rollers. She was a fierce and compassionate advocate for NZ Roller Derby - loved by many for her fierceness in competition and her generous mentorship off the track. She also had a wicked sense of humour and was just great fun to be around. Rogue Rollers and Dunedin Derby wish to give something back to Nic's family from the Roller Derby community, in recognition for the love and mana she brought to many of us skaters.
We are all heartbroken, but it's time to muster up our strength to make sure that her most cherished babies get the support they need.

Rogue Rollers is a collective of women brought together by Nic Hedley to form a derby league based on fun, inclusiveness and manaakitanga.
Nic Hedley's kids are talented individuals in their own right. Without Mum, Nic's kids need the financial support to help them through this difficult time, to give them a solid base so they can continue to thrive and do their mum proud.
