The North End Rowing club has a very proud history that dates back to 1892. Through the hard work of many Club members back in 1968 the current Clubrooms were built and have served its members well. With the growing interest in rowing, New Zealand’s most successful Olympic code. Olympic Gold Medalist Hamish Bond started his rowing at our club and continues to support North End to this day. It is now timely that modernisation of the club rooms is commenced so as to create a facility that meets the needs of all for many years to come. It will be a well presented Clubrooms at the time of our 125th anniversary in 2017 and show that today’s Club Committee members, like those before, are committed to providing good facilities for those wanting to take up the sport of rowing.
A modernised facility also creates a venue that other community groups can use if and where appropriate
