NZ Dental Volunteers take on Morocco

Angela, Emily and Alivia have joined the Dental Mavericks team to provide urgent relief to Moroccan children from dental disease.

We are fundraising to help educate and provide urgent dental treatment for the children of the remote villages of Chefchaouen in the Riff Mountains and El Jebha on the coast. With no dental care available these children suffer constant dental pain, with no hope of relief.

Angela and Emily are registered and qualified Oral Health Therapists, trained in Dental Therapy and Dental Hygiene. They perform tooth extractions, fillings and place crowns. They also remove plaque, calculus, and provide oral health education to patients and their families.

Alivia is a registered counsellor, she has the drive and passion to help young people live their best lives. She will be assisting the Therapists sterilizing equipment, applying fluoride and providing post operative care after extractions.

We will be part of a team of nine New Zealander's who will be travelling to Morocco at their own cost to volunteer their dental expertise, to treat the poor and underprivileged children in these isolated villages.
