NZ4Wuhan: fundraising for mask donation
Raising fund to pay an order of 18,000 Surgical Masks manufactured in Korea to be donated to Wuhan hospital to support the medical staff .Auckland
Project "NZ4Wuhan" is initiated by New Zealand Chinese Youth Federation. The goal of the project is to raise fund in New Zealand to purchase medical mask for the local medical staff in Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus.
The total amount of mask that NZCYF ordered is 18,000, and they are surgical masks manufactured in Korea. The first donation of 6,000 masks was successfully sent to Wuhan No.4 Hospital Changqing Branch and received by the representative of the hospital with a Letter of Acknowledgement. The supply and transport was helped by our partnered social volunteering groups.
NZCYF decided NOT to purchase medical protection devices from local pharmacy in New Zealand. We believe that purchasing a large amount of goods here will cause unnecessary pressure to the stock of goods that is also needed by New Zealand people. Competing with the local need will result in conflict and misunderstanding. We aim to win supports and sympathy from New Zealand society to Wuhan.
Therefore, we opened this page on Givealittle only for the fundraising of the total amount of payment of the 18,000 Surgical Masks that we ordered from the Korean supplier. The shortage of protection devices in hospitals in Wuhan is a major concern. We are not raising an excessive amount of money that is considered as useless, but only the amount that is sufficient for us to pay for what we had ordered.
NZCYF is not to profit social youth group based in Auckland. In the past decade we had worked hard for the mutual benefits of New Zealand and Chinese community. All of our works are conducted purely by volunteers who committed their effort and time. 18,000 masks is only a small amount of supplies compare to the large insufficiency in Wuhan and nearby regions, but this amount is worked out by all of our Committee Members' effort in terms of communicating, approving product certificate, organising transport and delivery, monitoring and reporting.
Please support NZ4Wuhan.
