Our local grommies have reached out for support and we're asking you to get on-board to join the stoke and help them get to Nationals!

Wellington

Our local grommies have reached out for support and we're asking you to get on-board to join the stoke please!

The National Scholastic Surf Champs are in Gisborne from 8th-12th October and we need your help to get Wellington grommies there.

The National Scholastics have a long and important history in New Zealand surfing – Maz and Jay Quinn, Ricardo Christie and Page Hareb are all former Scholastic Champs – and is an amazing development opportunity for our groms. It exposes them to the best surfers in the country – pushing their surfing for the better, provides a chance to make life-long friendships across the Aotearoa surfing community, and gives exposure to the talent in our region.

Raising the funds to get them there is a challenge. Entrance fees, accommodation, food and transport add up so every dollar makes a big difference.

The grommies and Wellington Boardriders Club have been working hard to raise funds and the team hopes to on behalf of family, friends and the local community not only just compete but proudly represent Wellington.

We've been able to get a van donated for the whole trip! And some awesome businesses have come on-board as sponsors. Now it's up to us to help get the team over the line.

Joining in to financially support the team is a critical part of their success.

If you’re stoked on giving our groms the best opportunity for their development as surfers, and helping them have a blast, then we would greatly appreciate any gift you’re willing to make today.

Thanks heaps for getting on-board!

Thanks so much for your support so far! We hope you all got some great waves last week as karma for your good deeds :)

We're just days away from sending our team to the Nationals, and they are getting excited!

We need to purchase uniforms and pay for registrations this week and confirm travel so all your support is hugely appreciated and helpful.

We've managed to raise over $5,000 so far with t-shirt sales, donations on the day of the regionals competition, the Givealittle page, and our generous sponsors so there's just $3000 left to raise. The team is stoked - thank you all!
