A Covered Riding Facility for West Auckland RDA
West Auckland RDA needs a Covered Riding Facility to better serve the community. PLEASE HELP US RAISE THE ROOF!

We provide therapeutic horse-riding activities for young people with physical, intellectual, emotional or social challenges. We are a volunteer led community service and are proud to say we currently offer 957 riding therapy sessions per year to people of West Auckland who have disabilities and challenges affecting their quality of life. We have over 60 fabulous volunteers, 4 coaches and a paediatric physiotherapist on our team.
We currently have no covered facilities, and have to cancel over 30% of our sessions due to wet weather. It rains a lot out west! However, we have big plans to "Raise the Roof" and build a covered riding facility. We have Resource Consent from Auckland Council to build a covered riding arena, with attached therapy and seminar rooms, horse stables and equipment storage, all under cover. This facility will enable us to increase our service by 400% to Reach More Riders and Change More Lives in West Auckland.

Use of funds
Every little bit counts! Contributions large and small will go firstly towards the main building. If donations raised exceed our target, these will go towards further aspects of the over all project, such as carpark, driveway, rain tanks, shed, planting.

We are Raising the Roof! 20 March 2023
Exciting progress, as you can see, even as the dark clouds remind us why we need this. Our goal is on the horizon, though we still have a way to go. We are still raising money for the last parts of the project. With a little help from everyone we hope to have it completed and opened early next year.
