The New Zealand Zakat Foundation supports people in need through the power of zakat. Every year New Zealanders give 2.5% of their wealth in zakat to people in need.
People in need in our own community often miss out on the opportunity to be supported by zakat. Families in New Zealand are struggling with raising costs and the impact of Covid-19. Many people in our community carry high burdens of debt, taken to meet their basic needs.
Zakat is not just any charity. Its amount is prescribed by Allah SWT. How it is spent is designed to building strong, healthy, flourishing Muslim communities, redistributing wealth to those in need.
The purpose of the New Zealand Zakat Foundation is to facilitate Zakat distribution, locally, fulfilling our duty as Muslims to strengthen and uplift the New Zealand Muslim community.

Our Projects: Dar al Quran Auckland, The New Zealand Zakat Fund, New Zealand Muslim Leadership Collective & the Halal Expo.

Funds will be distributed to Zakat eligible people in New Zealand.
Our Focus for 2021 is new muslims, single mothers, students of knowledge, those affected by Covid-19.
