Please help Avery get a trike

On the 16th of February, my daughter Avery was in a serious car crash which lead to extensive injuries including a spinal cord injury (t11 incomplete)

With her injury, she is unable to walk and still has a long road ahead of her for more recovery and whatever that might look like (it is unknown with spinal cord injuries but we are hopeful)

For the past 5 months we have been at the Wilson rehabilitation centre in Auckland, and were finally discharged 25th June and we’re able to return to our home.

I recently saw a friend find a great trike for her son and his condition, and I would love to raise enough funds to get Avery one fitted to her needs so have created this page to help

The trikes are a few thousand, on the 1st July I will be meeting with brain from New Zealand trikes for them to go over Averys needs with us and have one made perfectly for her and to get a price tag

This trike will open up so many opportunities for Avery in the community and she will be able take part in family activities like bike rides, this will also really help encourage activity in her hamstrings, and build more muscle in her quads. These both are important for walking again.

She does have a wheelchair, but this does not help with any lower muscle activity at all.

Trikes New Zealand have advised that they only have 3 of these trikes left, and it will be some time before they are able to get more as they are made in Germany.
