Help Flynn through this tough time
Whangarei, Northland
My sisters son Flynn had a horrible freak accident yesterday which is lead to him being flown to starship hospital fighting for his life after severing the main artery in his arm and is currently in ICU.
Due to the extent of his injuries they are having to take extended time off work to be by his side whilst he recovers.
The funds will be going towards supporting both Gabrielle and Cam as they navigate being off work during this tough time to be in hospital and support their son.
Any help for them would be much appreciated.
ACC will provide some financial support.
I am Gabrielle’s sister
Will help with the time they are taking off work to be by there sons side
Update on Flynn 25 March 2025
Update from Gabrielle
Yay, late Friday we were transferred from Starship to Whangārei as Flynn was recovering better than expected.
He spent the weekend under observation and has had many services connected for his on-going rehabilitation Monday and Tuesday this week.
Going forward he will have a long recovery gaining full use and feeling back in his hand and arm as at this stage he has no feeling or sensation.
Today we are lucky to say he has been discharged from hospital. Although a little unsettling, it is a positive step towards his recovery and we are so happy he is alive and slowly recovering.
What a journey this past couple of weeks have been and we cannot even begin to express the gratitude we feel for all the support shown so far!
A big mihi to everyone on the journey with us. Mīharo whānau!
Ngā mihi nui,
The Paynes.
