My baby needs $10,000 for SPECIALIST, bloodwork, MRI, and surgery on his spine
Wellington
Over the weekend my boy had sudden symptoms that something was wrong, he literally went from jump, skip, hop to flip, crash, boom. He suddenly started yelling in pain when he was patted by my partner, instantly we all were concerned, he laid still and cried with every touch, I called the after hours and they said I had to pay upfront and it was quite a hefty price, we had no money due to medical expenses from me and my partner being sick earlier in the week. So we waited for the morning my boy cried all night.
As soon as the morning hit we were at the SPCA, the vet examined him and said she thought it was something to do with his spine, she name a few things it could be but said without tests she couldn't tell me, she prescribed painkillers and a anti inflammatory and said to update her the next morning but to also prepare ourselvesfor the worst. He appeared to be responding well to begin with and I let her know, she made a appointment for Thursday to have a graph (xray) done but he got bad again that day so I rescheduled for Monday, further that night he collapsed and was the worst we had seen him, his neck and face swelled up, he was yelping in pain he had no control of his legs and we couldnt do anything, I looked in his eyes and it was like watching my boy die. I called after hours in hysterics explaining what had happen and begging for them to see him, they let us come through.
We transported him on a baby mattress everywhere from this point, when we arrived the vet checked and administered morphine and antibiotics but again without the test there was nothing else she could tell us. The next morning we went into the SPCA for sons graph and it showed a lesion on his spinal cord, our vet decided to get a second opinion and sent it to the specialist at Massey's and they came back saying the same, she said she was going to keep saint till 5PM so she could administer some more morphine before we left and increased his pain medication and she put a referral through to Massey because he needs specialist, tests, and surgery witch is quoted at 10,000 in total.
Ive spoke to Massey and they have said that in order to set up a payment plan they will need a 50% deposit before any work is done for saint, but I'm struggling with it. I had a business and two jobs before but I fell ill and ended up being not medically fit to work and lost my job in the process, my partner doesn't work because he looks after me, it's tough having to be so dependent but the worst is not being able to provide my son with the medical help he needs, at this point we are selling everything we own worth anything, including my business care to pick a part because it's no longer a necessity, we have both quit smoking and are looking at anyway to make money.
So far my partner and I have got $500 I have a donation page on Fb that has also raised $268 which bring us to $768 so far but it's still a fair bit away from where we need to be. I've also made a Fb page dedicated to show our generous donors exactly where the money is going, how much I am putting in outside of Fb and daily updates on saint, because I feel that it is important that all information is ready and availablefor anyone that is kind enough to help. I hate that I have to ask but I will for my boy, so please if you have anything spear and would like to help my baby get back to his old self anything would be very much appreciated, also feel free to add his page regardless if you donate or not, come watch his journey, I promise when he gets better and you see him and how he is when he's well, you will fall in love with him as all of us did. Facebook account is @Ourboy saint, thank you for taking the time to read this.
He is my dog, my baby.
Initial consultation with specialist, Bloodwork, MRI, Surgery, Pain killers and medications. If by any chance there is a surplus or things don't go to plan, I will take the situation back to his updates page and ask donors what they want me to do with it.
