This GiveALittle page seeks support for Peter, who is in critical condition after a severe assault. Leaving him fighting for his life.
Hastings, Hawke's Bay
Our beloved brother Peter who is a dad to his 3 sons is currently in Intensive Care Unit at Wellington Hospital after a brutal assault left him in critical condition. On 19th July, Peter was severely assaulted and flown to Wellington Hospital, where he underwent multiple surgeries to relieve swelling on his brain which has saved his life and it’s still touch and go each day, everyday he is here is a blessing and we hope he keeps fighting to wake up to see us and his 3 boy's.
On 26th July, Peter was flown back to Hawkes Bay Hospital but remained in a coma. Unfortunately, on 3rd August, he had complications and was flown back to Wellington Hospital ICU. He is now taking anti-seizure medication for re occurring seizures .
We are devastated and desperately want to be by his side during this difficult time. Our family lives in Hastings and Australia, the costs of travelling and staying in Wellington will quickly add up.
Any donation, no matter how small, will go a long way in helping us cover the expenses of accommodation and travel amongst us siblings and our dad . Your support will allow our father to stay close to Peter and ensure he receives the love and care he needs to recover over this period of time may it be months or up to a year.
We just want Peter to wake up and be able to see his three beautiful boys, his siblings, and our parents. We miss his laughter, his jokes, his smile and his voice so much.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any support you can give.
I am the eldest sibling of 6 I am Peter’s sister .
Accomodation, flights, petrol, any funeral expenses as doctors have said there’s a possibility he can pass away and he has had difficulty breathing and swallowing and given anti seizure medicine, more surgeries to help him continue to be alive at this time
Peters progress August 29th 29 August 2024
Hi whanau and friends, not much to update as of today we have had zoom calls with whanau and all the team who are responsible for looking after Peter at the moment at the ABI REHAB CENTRE Our brother has a traumatic brain injury and it is slow progress for him, it’s early days still and he still remains minimally conscious he has small windows of wake times and sleeps a lot , the ABI team are helping him as much as they can but in Peter’s own time he will make the progress that his brain and body allows him too. It’s very hard seeing him as he his today but we remain strong for that is what he would want from us as a whanau . Thankyou for all the support to this day please keep the bro in your thoughts n prayers .
