Please help our Grandparents, our Elderly our Taonga
Our elderly people need our help. Please help me help them.Northland
Our elderly people are our treasure, our gift of knowledge and wisdom, our taonga.
Some of our elderly do not have the financial support to get their homes repaired or have maintenance done, especially in our rural areas. They may receive a pension but it can be difficult for them to travel into town and meet the requirements that MSD or ACC ask of them before approving help. It can be a long waiting period for our elderly and because of that they don’t ask for help.
Please HELP me, HELP our elderly, they are our Patriarch’s and our Matriarch’s, our reason for existing today and some desperately need our help, they have given so much of themselves and ask for nothing in return. Let us help them be able to live what life they have left in a safe, warm and dry home.
We have a Facebook page called Our Taonga, Our Treasure, Our Pakeke’ it will show the progress and projects of our candidates so that our communities can see where and what the funds are used for.
We are a new idea hoping to get our charity up off the ground with your help.
Anarea Tau's involvement (page creator)
My idea stemmed from my children’s great grandparents. Their great grandmother fell down her back door stairs because they were rotten.
I realised that we have a lot of elderly that need help with repairs and maintenance issues.
Use of funds
All funds raised will go towards the cost of maintenance repairs, materials, resources and services needed for their homes.
