Trying to raise money so Ashleigh can join her team representing NZ in the world Ultimate Frisbee games
Gisborne
Ashleigh is a polite, hardworking, lovely young teenager who tries her best at everything life has to offer...and we are very proud of her. She started playing Ultimate Frisbee 2 years ago, and was thrilled to represent our new hometown - Gisborne - at the national games last year.
At those games, she was chosen to try out for the NZ Rep Youth team.
After attending several training camps she was delighted to be invited to be part of Kahu ; the NZ U20 Rep Team playing in the Asia Oceania games last December . The fundraising was hard to get her to Manilla but with the help of family and close friends she got there.
Her ultimate (dream) goal was to be selected for the U20 Womens team playing at the World Games in Sweden in July 2020. We encouraged her to strive for her goal (as you do), but secretly hoped she wouldn't achieve it as it simply wasn't something the family could afford.
Last week she was ecstatic to hear she made the team, and we cant let her down..
Here's hoping the 'givealittle' campaign works as we have already paid a $2,000 deposit for her to attend and will have to cover any shortfall with our credit cards (gulp!).
Thanks for reading! :-)
I am Ashleighs mum, doing my best to ensure she doesn't miss out on an awesome opportunity to represent NZ at the world games.
