Please consider helping our caring, funny, loveable and precious niece and daughter fight leukaemia!
Canterbury
My name is Lily Savannah Finch and I am 4 and a half years old. On Thursday 5th March 2020, my Mummy and Daddy, Anna and Greg, got some really sad news that I have acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
Leukaemia is a cancer of the bone marrow and white blood cells.
The doctors told us that I will have to have 2.5 years of intensive treatment in the form of chemotherapy and long hospital stays.
Everyone tells me that I have been very brave with all the blood tests and medical procedures I had to have so far. The doctors and nurses have been so kind and caring at Christchurch Hospital and help bring a smile to my face, even when I am feeling really grumpy and sick. Mummy told me that this is going a be a long journey and it some days it will be a bit bumpy and tough.
Either Mummy or Daddy has to be with all times while I am in hospital, which is makes it tricky for them to go to work. I miss my little brother Jacob who sometimes visits for short times with Mummy or Daddy, but it hard to keep him out of mischief, he likes to touch everything!
As Anna and Greg are trying to navigate their new normal, any money people donate will be used to help cover the shortfall of Anna and Greg working in a reduced capacity. This money will be used to cover their day-to-day bills and expenses. I know it is a big thing for them to reach out ask for help, but it would be truly appreciated as they face every parent's worst nightmare.
I am the sister of Anna and Aunty to Lily, who is currently battling acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
Any funds raised will go towards day-day-to-day bills and expenses such as groceries, petrol and power, as Anna and Greg work in a reduced capacity.
Thank you so much for your support 17 September 2021
Thank you so much to everyone that so generously gave to Lily's givealittle. It was so truly appreciated and was has made an incredibly tough time a bit easier.
Lily is having some complications with her maintenance treatment. She is currently on limited chemo due to her body previously developing pancreatitis. Chemo is so hard on the body, especially for young children. At the moment for red blood cells and platelets are on the low side and recently she had to have a blood transfusion.
Lily has taken it all in her trademark stride, but of course there are days she just wants to be a "normal kid' and not have to deal with leukaemia anymore.
If you are a person of faith, please keep praying for Lily, that the limited chemotherapy that she is currently having will be sufficient to keep for well and the cancer away.
Please also pray for her bloods to stabilise and to remain at healthy levels.
Thank you once again for all your love and support.
